At the forefront of culinary creativity both in Spain and worldwide, Joan Roca leads, together with his brothers Jordi and Josep, the restaurant El Celler de Can Roca in Girona, which has held 3 Michelin stars since 2010. It was named The World’s Best Restaurant in 2013 and 2015 by ‘The World’s 50 Best Restaurants’. 

He personally was named ‘The World’s Best Chef in 2017’ & 2018 by the ‘Best Chefs Awards’, and he is a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations, supporting sustainable development programmes across the planet.He works with the flavours of traditional cuisine, evolving them through pioneering techniques in a stunning, poetic modern cuisine that evokes intense emotions. Joan Roca has been a decisive contributor and developer of modern cooking techniques. The meticulous and masterful development of sous-vide cooking, as well as the distillation of foods and liquids at low temperature and in a vacuum (Rotaval), has been pivotal. Besides The Roca brothers have 4 more restaurants, 2 hotels, an artisan chocolate factory, an astonishing 80,000-bottle wine cellar, a distillery and a creative ice cream boutique.
