Ari Vezené

Born in New York and raised by Greek immigrants, Ari is a nonconformist, self-taught chef, butcher, and founder of Green Garlic Management, a fast-growing innovative hospitality investment group based in Athens. 

Vezené restaurants, Birdman Japanese Pub + Grill, Manari Tavern and Ekiben Kitchen are the brands under Green Garlic Management’s portfolio.   He is considered the first chef to introduce the modern bistronomy movement in Greece, back in 2008, whole animal butchery, extensive dry aging techniques, and nose-to-tail cooking. Ari and his projects have been featured prominently in the Michelin Guide, Worlds 50 Best, Financial Times London, Vogue, Travel and Leisure, Condé Nast, GQ, Monocle, Esquire, and Elle. In addition, he has served as the Greek ambassador of Krug Champagne, mentor for the Greek team for San Pellegrino Young Chef Academy, and guest chef at Master chef. Through Embrace,  a series of events meant to introduce our local community to some of the world’s most influential chefs & culinary personalities, he provides an opportunity for Greece and a new generation of Greek gastronomy to reach the world.
